Day In The Life

"...where a cafe setting keeps things informal and encourages collaboration"

What's a typical day at PDG like? Well, in a company like PDG, no two days are exactly the same, so if you like predictability, this may be the wrong place for you. But if you like excitement, the opportunity to try new approaches and new technologies, and working with some of the smartest people in the industry, then PDG could be right for you. Try this day, for example:

Michelle, an Instructional Designer, is driving in to the office. She has a brainstorming meeting with her project team, and she has a cool idea for a new course. Earlier in the week, she participated in a Cool Stuff session where the team looked at new technology trends. Although the client requested an e-learning course, she has ideas to more effectively pull-through the learning using social media and a custom virtual world environment.

As she arrives at the office, she runs into Steve, a Graphic Designer, and shares her ideas with him. He thinks the ideas sound cool, and they grab a space in the Studio, where a café setting keeps things informal and encourages collaboration. Steve and Michelle work up the idea and get it ready to share at the team meeting later that afternoon. Throughout the day, they keep their conversation going over Instant Messenger.

Steve goes on to make some client changes to a project he’s working on. Using PDG’s Storyteller Platform, the changes are quick and easy to make—in fact, most changes can be made without any programming skills. He’s able to make his changes fast and move back to what he really loves—creating cool graphics.

Steve and Michelle join their colleagues at the Business Update meeting, where they learn about everything that’s going on in the company. One of their colleagues, a Developer named Brian, is being recognized for the great work he did on a recent client project. As they exit the meeting, they walk past PDG’s award wall. Michelle and Steve agree that the current idea they have should add another award to the wall.
